Can we agree to disagree? I just don't like watching Teen Titans Go or Sponge Bob. The only American cartoon I actually like is Steven Universe, and many others assume that the most popular anime among viewers is DragonballZ, which I personally do not like, (apologies to DragonballZ fans) but japan uses anime for many different things, such as extreme fantasy, comedy, porn, have someone to look up to, relate to characters, and even how to go by everyday life. And also, with that pie graph, what about the hundreds of thousands, maybe millions of people in Japan and China, and the hundreds of thousands in the US and Canada who go to an Anime Con? I am very popular in school yet I watch anime. It is a well known fact. Maybe you narrow minded people need to expand your horizon, because when the world changes, people like you will rot under the bridges and in hell. Just so you know.
