The entire political establishment has been doing stupid things for decades that led to this situation. This includes abandoning a deal that would have prevented North Korea from developing nukes during the Bush administration. They did the same with Iran instead of taking opportunities to improve relations they put them on the "Axis of Evil shortly after they helped with espionage information after 9/11.

The best reporting on history or current events is rarely reported in mainstream media but it can be found in the best alternative media outlets once you learn to sort through them.
Often what they do is just keep track of contradictions and prevent admissions of previous scams from being forgotten, as the MSM does.
