Gender identity should be viewed and accepted as a spectrum. A person can be born with male genitalia and exhibit varying degrees of what we generally refer to as feminine characteristics and a person could be born with female genitalia and exhibit varying degrees of what we generally refer to as masculine characteristics. In a free society people could decide to identify themselves as anywhere on the sexual spectrum even from one day to the next without fear of discrimination, intimidation or actual violence.
