YOU ARE BEING *VERY* DISINGENUOUS!

UNTIL THE LATE 1960'S *SOUTHERN* DEMOCRATS WERE *CONSERVATIVES*. After Johnson moved the Democratic Party to the left, those people SWITCHED TO THE REPUBLICAN PARTY. So it was the CONSERVATIVES in 1860 who owned and supported slavery and it's the CONSERVATIVES today who STILL advocate basically the same views.
