Those progressive ideas that founded these United States of America got us into this quagmire where the backwards thinking uneducated masses are foaming at the mouth in order to establish a national socialist system akin to the one that worked so well for the Third Reich. The "progressives" in the media call these people "patriots." These people are calling themselves communists and hold to socialist/communist ideology and have people who think the same all over the country.
The only thing that separates National Socialists from Communists is that Nazis separated and murdered people based on race while Commies separated and murdered people based on class. Both are evil and both suck and both stem from the same root ideology.
If people continue to refuse to call both ideologies out for what they are people will be subject to one or the other.

At James. Why does it have to be either or? I see more freedom of speech and freedom of expression-not less, (no matter the platform), as the highest form of freedom. Let both sides express to their hearts desire and then stand back and may the best ideology win in the arena of idea's.

I'm not postulating a false dilemma where we have choose one or the other. That is the narrative that is being set up in the media and believed by people like this jack_henoff person. Their narrative is that if you don't totally disavow Nazis, white supremacists, or alt-right segregationists then you must support their ideology.
While at the same time they won't disavow the antifa communists, and think that when someone does disavow or denounce the racists then they must agree with the "peaceful opposition" to the racists.
I agree that freedom of speech/expression is the best. So let both ideologies express themselves (as long as they are not doing it with violence) and normal people will see that both ideologies are garbage and not good for any society. Neither should "win in the arena of ideas" because both lead to totalitarianism and death. I suggest for people like jack to do a little research into the amount of death and suffering wrought by totalitarian communists vs. the National Socialists (Nazis). Both ideologies are garbage controlled by garbage human beings but what the Nazis did pales in comparison to the evil and suffering of communist regimes just in shear numbers. Look into professor Jordan B. Peterson's lectures on totalitarianism.
