Perth observatory instructions for viewing eclipses.
1. Get 2 pieces of paper.
2. Pierce one of them with a pin.
3. Hold the pierced piece of paper over the unpierced piece about a foot apart. This produces an image of the sun on the lower (screen) piece of paper.
4. Move the pierced piece of paper up & down until image is sharp.
Alternatively do the same thing with a magnifying glass over a nonflammable surface e.g. concrete.
