There are plenty of original memes, but most don't make it to the front page. Even the most frequently reposted memes have to start out as an original at least once. :)

And I should know. ;) I'm trying to use mostly pictures I find myself off of Google Images, or if not then trying not to fall back into common jokes when I use public templates on here. It can be done. You might lose mass front page status, but your memeing life will be richer. ;P

I much prefer fresh templates and ideas, but sometimes there is too much expectation on standard templates to ignore.
