Upvote! How does that work with gifs? Is a new title enough to make it your own?

I guess, gifs were a very small part of imgflip when i started. I am not going to lie and say every gif i have submitted I made myself. But the ones i made from scratch have done well for me. I guess honesty really is what matters most. I've never taken credit for another persons work. I believe that is more important than anything else in my opinion.

Honesty is a good point when it come time to submit and take credit! I have made a lot of creations from scratch, including some of the gifs I've posted. Some of those have done well, most have not. I am most grateful if and when my original creations get featured by the moderators. They don't always get featured, that is a risk one takes when hitting the "submit" button.

When I was new, I copied a gif from Giphy and posted it on imgflip. Apparently someone somewhere did the same as me a few weeks before I did. It was an issue to someone somewhere. That sucked, mostly because the users who were immature about the situation weren't claiming the gif was original, just that mine was a "repost". Seemed a bit dishonest and hypocritical.

You never know where your meme might end up. It only takes one person sharing it in the right forum for it. Imgflip does us the honor of featuring them and putting them out there on teh intehwebz.

Unfortunately people without the ability to properly converse or have proper social interactions with others always find a way and plenty of time to be online ;)

About all this site is anymore. Besides the few of you guys that are still here trying to do original work, most of everyone else just seems to have given up. And oh boy do they not like to be called out about it!! LMAO!!

I got where I let it ruin this place for me. I didn't post anything for quite a while then I realized, screw it I'm going back and if I see it I'm calling their shit. Everybody who is serious about this type of thing should try to branch out anyway. You only get one audience type here and it's easy to fall into a rut. I love photoshop competitions because you can't repost a shopped pic of a picture they just gave you. Some of those guys are crazy talented! But then here you have this awesome group of creative people and they hardly comment to each other.

I caught flak at first for submitting too much haha! I'm used to commenting here and making pics on the fly while doing so. I had to learn to slow down a bit and pay more attention to detail. I like that though I can still feel like I'm growing at this. Now I just have to get those guys commenting pics back and forth!

I don't understand why the mods here are the complete opposite of other sites. Regardless of all the arguments for or against it comes down to one thing for me. If I made a meme site and it was full of reposts and/or alt account point manipulators I'd want to fix it. You want people to think of your site as the place to get new stuff nobody has seen yet. That is what they search for after all. Just letting it go unchecked forever is bad for your real users and site visitors.

It's funny to me how people get upset when you call them out for a shitpost. They should go try to post that stuff elsewhere and see how it goes. Anyway I have my irons in a few fires these days. I try not to mention other sites on here, don't want to appear ungrateful for what I found here when I needed it. Or look like I'm talking people into leaving. Plenty of places love true original content, if this place wants to be the facebook of meme sites I suppose nothing I do can stop it.
