X All The Y Meme | YEA!!!...TO MUSIC! | image tagged in memes,x all the y | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
I've seen a lot of bands live over the years. A couple that I really liked were Tool and Korn. But there are many more, The Foo Fighters, The Misfits, The Black Crows, Papa Roach, that I like too. I also like bands that I haven't seen like Green Day or Hellyeah. And I was just notified that my Moitionless in White CD has come in. Does that help?

Sure! I know most of those by name but I'll have to do some listening research. ( :

I'm off for the weekend, 1forpeace. You'll have to tell me of your musical influences next week. While not akin to your listed faves, I do have music I enjoy a lot I will tell you about. Keep happy, my friend.

Music...Korn, Tool, Motionless in White, Hollywood Undead, Green Day, Seether, Breaking Benjamin, Chevelle, Shinedown, Godsmack, Avenged Sevenfold, Disturbed, Stone Sour, Black Veil Brides, Taking Back Sunday, and The All American Rejects. Hopefully that gives you a place to start from. :)

I tried the link you gave me but couldn't find it, but I did find the label's page, just couldn't find any snippets, but I did see the album covers. Just wanted to let you know I tried. :)

Have a wonderful weekend too. :)

Have you ever heard any Pallbearer? Sorta melodic doom metal (and not as doomy as that sounds). Their first album, "Sorrow and Extinction", is a classic. I recognize most of the bands you mention, but I came to the metal form through a different route; mostly via black metal but some older stuff from the '80s and '90s (heavily into Iron Maiden). Nowadays it's lots of grindcore (Pig Destroyer, Agoraphobic Nosebleed), noisecore (Sissy Spacek - the band, not the actress), doom (Monarch, Corrupted), and various other esoteric stuff in the genre. Other than metal it's post-rock, free jazz, and noise.

I'll look and see if I can find a better link to our album. The Bandcamp page has free streaming of the two songs on it if you just click the arrow before them. My lyrics/poetry is also available in the same way. I'll get back to you here.

I have heard of Pallbearer, Monarch, maybe Corrupted, but I do believe I have Pig Destroyer posters somewhere. Not that I could identify who any of them are. Metal is fun, but I can't be in a mosh pit, which I found that out at a Ramones show.
So I've more or less stuck with things I know, and that I can dance to. :)
I'm looking forward to both hearing the music and seeing your poetry if I may have the honor...I'll be waiting.

Ramones were either my 3rd or 4th live show I ever went to. I once pulled a date of mine out of a Sugar (Bob Mould post-Husker Du band) mosh pit to save her bones. From seeing your likes I would recommend trying Pallbearer.

That's right: I need to find a good link to the music we had released for you. I'll go do that now. :)

I really want to spend time on checking this out. Unfortunately I have a city council meeting tonight, which is also why I didn't finish all of my comments yesterday. I had to write five to six minutes of presentations last night...they don't like rough drafts, but oh well I've been busy. Thank you for your patients. I look forward to exploring your art later. :)

I have to take off from work here now myself. Let me know how your presentations went. Good luck? Perhaps just say: do what you know you're capable of. ;)

I prewrite my presentations and go up and read them. I hate public speaking, but the community really seems to like me. Although the city council not so much. Which must say I'm doing something right. :)
I promise I will check out your music when I can give it the proper time...hopefully over the weekend. Unfortunately I have to make a documentation submission list and submit more documents by Friday.
Although my week does seem to be going well. :)

;) I like you and I qualify as part of the community. :)

Are you a full-time activist?
1 up, 7y
I had one college class grade probably dropped because I wouldn't look at the class while giving my presentation. So it's not new.
You are very sweet, I think you are nice too. And if you feel the need to tell the city I live in to stop messing with me...I don't think I could stop you. Although the city I don't think would have any idea of who 1forpeace is...but maybe they could figure it out. :)
I do not try to be a full time activist, but I've been put in bad situations by the city. And my feeling is if they do it to me they're doing it to others who can't speak out or take the actions I can. So I have to try and do it in a way that it not only helps me but hopefully makes them stop doing it to others. One can only hope. :)

You seem to be doing well with what activism you're pursuing. And what is worth doing unless it's also benefiting others? The only help you'd need from me is more encouragement. So: more strength to you. :)

I was painfully shy as a child. Because I was forced to socialize myself I now am able to speak out more forcefully (sometimes too much so). I'm still not an extrovert, but I'm capable of asserting myself. Public interaction in my job has helped. But I still find myself reticent, which sometimes is a good thing, as it allows me to be more sympathetic and understanding. I may appear gruffer on my memes and comments, but the truth is that I'm more like what you experience me here in real life. ;)
1 up, 7y
My real only advantage is I know, more or less, how to beat the system, and throw in a couple of unconventional things they aren't expecting. But thank you for your encouragement and strength. This has not been an easy battle, but some things do seem to be going a little more my way.

We all have our gruff exterior for real life...to shield ourselves. And I too was different shall we say from the other children in multiple ways, was even teased and excluded by some because of it. So believe me I can relate to being an introvert as a child. But I also learned a lot about the right and wrong ways to treat other people having experienced this myself. Don't worry there's always hope for you. :)
Again you are very kind sweet and nice. :)

We'll see if these work. Maybe cut-and-paste? The band name is Cascades of Darkness, the album name is "True NW Black Metal" (originally meant as 'True Northwestern Black Metal' as a play on 'True Norwegian Black Metal', but my friend was too lazy to correct the label guy's mistake). The music is extremely raw and messy - recorded on four track in friend's garage with cassette and mixed on his laptop - and the 'vocals' are basically a hiss with a word here and there discernible. Clicking on the arrows next to the songs will stream them, and next to the titles you can click on 'lyrics' for them. I doubt you could dance to it but you seem to have determination. ;)

Thanks for the interest. :)

[image deleted]Well...I finally figured it out. I listened to the music both remastered and not. As you said a lot of distorted noise over a melody at times you could move you hips to, and at other times your body would be floating around with. It sounds cool. :)
If you wrote the lyrics they are amazing. Although in the Thenody for the darkness in Humankind it does seem personal, which can be from where the best comes from.
Next question have you made any plans to go out and support this release? If so where will you be playing live? And how soon before you come to Los Angeles?
I don't know how much help I could be to you here. I mean if you want I might be able to help you make a submission to my friends venue. But due to the genre of music, I'm not sure it would get very far, although it might get it a little more attention. Let me know. :)
Also I have to ask do you play with or write for anyone else? :)

You listened to the remixes? I haven't even heard those yet. ;)

We don't play live. We don't have the musical talent. I did the songs with a friend and he did all the music while I wrote the lyrics and hissed them out. We may do another Cascades of Darkness, but right now we're thinking more along the lines of a harsh noise release done through electronic equipment and effects pedals, probably under another name. My friend is supposed to rent a truck this Saturday and we're to get his equipment out of storage - he lives in a trailer, no room - and take it to another friend's house, someone who has graciously offered to let us use a room he uses little to record in. Thank you for your offer of help but I think we'll be primarily be doing recording and releasing digitally on that label and maybe another. :)

My lyrics are somewhat detached from my reality. Writing poetry to be read solely I would be more personal in; with the music I write to fit the mood. I'm not as dark in real life, but I do understand the impulse and am able to convey those feelings in my writings. Like I said, if we release another CoD I would write lyrics, otherwise the noise releases would just be electronic manipulation on both our parts. :)

Thank you for listening. I'll let you know when other music of ours comes out. :)

Something to think about...I tried to put a meme out about it several times but because of the email address specifically for the band members, I think that was the problem. Anyway the program is called American Music Abroad and the band Acidic that I helped did an all expense paid trip to I think it was five middle eastern countries. And got paid on top of it. In addition now they are getting requests from the State Department in Washington D.C. to do other shows, as well as other countries requesting them to play there. Just another idea sent you way from the queen. :)
And I don't know why you're surprised that I took the time to check out everything. That's the reason I waited until the weekend, because If I am going to give you an honest opinion, I have to take the time to listen to the music, and I checkout each different version for that reason for both songs that were up. This is not something new. But again you are very sweet. :)
Oh and I hope you don't mind me dropping the name of the band, as a matter of a fact I did it earlier to a musician I ran into, and he seemed intrigued about the white noise over the vocals.
I'm sure you'll do well with this project or another. And I'd love to check out whatever you do next, just remember the time I have to commit to it and that I have to make the time to do it, so patients is needed with me. But I'd be honored to do it, please know that.

Music is magic!!! :)

I'm not surprised you listened to the music. You said you would and I believed you. :) You're like me, I have to make the time to do something, and when I make the time I give it an honest listen. Thank you. And feel free to drop names all you want. I imagine future projects we do will be digitally released by Blackened Death or another noise label my friend is Twitterly involved with. And with all your activities I certainly understand needing to schedule things. I'm so active on imgflip because my job - receiving dock - has so much down time; I'm probably only working 50% of the time, depending on the day. ;)

Now I have to look up this Acidic band. :)

Well that explains why you're meming before 8 am. :)
I'm still up from yesterday. The new management for my building doesn't value their tenants time, and appeared to be hiding from me yesterday. But then when I got home they had posted a note on my door demanding access for something I had told them had been fixed. No professionality at all. Sometimes it really does suck to be an executives daughter, because it makes it so easy to see the things that people are doing wrong in business. And...can you tell I've had no sleep?
But if I can make your day better and less stressful for you, that does please me. :)
1 up, 7y
Maybe I should be the one trying to bring you less stress to make your day better. :)

Now I better understand your executive training meme. :)

If I had an internet connection I trusted at home I might be memeing before then. I suffer a bit from insomnia.

Sometimes in debates of a more political type I like to push my debater a bit hard to see where they really stand. Never mean or particularly rude, but I can be terse and abrupt. I like to think of it as 'challenging'. ;)
