What's the quickest way to 1,000 points?

The best way to get points and get them quickly is to comment on front page memes and the memes in "latest." Once you get to 1,000 points, you'll be able to meme comments and then you can post even better comments. And like forceful already said, upvote the memes you comment on. I would go further to say upvote the memes you comment on, even if the memes aren't all that funny. It'll still look good on you and the bigger users will start to notice this. And also, upvote all the comments you comment on. It's good form here.

And also, take it from me, don't get into political arguments. I do from time to time and it can get old quick. And you might make enemies that way.

Just have fun! It's worth it if you just take everything here with a grain of salt. Remember, this is a meme site and nothing is worth getting upset over. You'll start to get to know the bigger users (the top point getters and those who frequent the site often) and start establishing yourself. The points will come and the funny conversations will begin.

Eh, I've been here a long time. Probably longer than all the active users. But I wouldn't call myself a big user. Users like Raydog and Socrates and Craziness_all_the_way and DashHopes are a little more active here for a longer period of time.

Just remember to keep submitting memes as much as possible and you'll eventually get the 3 submissions per day.

I can see by your profile that you have enough points to comment. That's good. Seeing everyone views the the first two pages post as many funny, witty thoughtful comments as you can. Be polite, it goes far. Form alliances. Up vote any meme you comment on, people will do the same for you. Even asking for help,like you just did, gets you noticed. Users will go to your profile and check out your work. As far as your own creations, keep your eyes open. Notice what's popular and what people like, then go make a meme. You will learn plenty as you go along. Mostly have fun and make friends.

My tips for having a good time on imgflip (they're off the top of my head, so they're totally legit):

1. Check Latest (not just Hot), and upvote and comment on good memes you see there (this is more for their benefit than yours, but if we all do it, it will help all of us)

2. Comment on a lot of memes, especially the ones in the top few Hot pages (that's the only way I know to save you from obscurity as an imgflip user)

3. Use the upvote button generously, but don't forget to use the downvote button too (upvotes help steer good memes toward the front page, downvotes help steer bad memes away)

4. Try not to let it get to you too much when people behave badly (it will, but try to just move on and not stress about it, if you can)

5. Feel free to ignore these tips and do your own thing :-)

I appreciate the help, as much as I can get. I tried other meme sites and they were quite rude and wouldn't help a "noob" out. Apparently I have to learn on my own on those other sites. This site seems a lot nicer and looks a lot easier to navigate.
