Seriously, it's like you're missing at least one or two words, and some punctuation wouldn't hurt either -

I said to the waitress "May I ORDER something OFF of the menu please?" (Capitalized just to show the difference.)

Not trying to be a grammar Nazi, it just doesn't make a lot of sense the way that it appears now. It does have potential, keep up the good work.

I thought these same thing.

'May I ask you something of the menu please' punnily translates as 'may I ask you something of the men you please'. He's an elegant gentleman, he's inquiring about something available; she took it wrongly so it's funny. There's no words missing and the punctuation is fine. But you do get an upvote for trying to be a grammar Nazi. :)

No, I seriously was NOT trying to be a GN, so I will have to take the upvote and donate it charity, perhaps the Boys & Girls Club or United Way.

Give it to an animal shelter. :) Anyway, I was just confused because I got it on first try and I usually don't. I thought it odd that someone wouldn't get it if I did. But I can see where 'of'>'off' might be a tricky one. Thanks for not taking my suggestion outside the friendly bounds it was meant. :)
