True. And history has been known to change outcomes. Remember when the Dixie Chicks spoke out against the invasion of Iraq?

I do. They, like Kathy Griffin, have a right to free speech and free expression. But so do all the critics of Kathy Griffin and the Dixie Chicks. Kathy seems to have forgotten that free speech doesn't mean freedom from consequences. Instead, she tries to play the victim and blame "old white men" for her dwindling career, not the fact that she's not funny.

You are so right. We have a bill of rights, but not a bill of responsibilities. I didn't see the story behind the severed head. I've used them in political posts but holding it up should only be done if it actually occurs. It's a good reminder to politicians about what happened when they became too self service in. But there is a limit and she pushed it.

She did. In my opinion, it can almost be considered sedition (which is a crime).

Sedition is a very difficult thing to prosecute, especially after similar acts occuring over the last decade. This would rank with the Obama hung in effigy, ad charges and uproar were nothing like those. One reason why, I think she went over the line of good taste. She wasn't playing to the liberal audience: they'd put up with the Obama hangings for years. She was playing to the conservative audience that had allowed and promoted the Obama hangings. She was shooting for the conservative knee jerk reaction. That it came from both sides of the spectrum surprised her. Most if her shows have been canceled between now and November. I'm just glad we didn't have political "humor" of today back when I was going.most of the humor then was as thought provoking as it was funny. Today, too much of the political humor has the mentality of a first grader. The funniest ones I've seen are the covfefe ones, as it needles the president that he is a human being that is not infallible.

That is a good point. The only minor difference in the Obama effigies was that the media and liberals were able to cry "racism." I'm not justifying the Obama effigies, just pointing out that one side of the political spectrum had a sense of outrage without looking into why some people didn't like Obama. It was easier to say "racism" instead of looking into the globalist policies that many Americans disagree with today. Political honesty (as well as intellectual honesty) are severely lacking nowadays, especially with these college liberals who cry "racism" when a white professor doesn't feel he should be forced off campus because of the color of his skin. Those students lack the capacity of introspection.

Yeah, the Racist aspect consistently reared it's head. Just like the Kenyan citizenship. His opposition lied so much that you couldn't believe them. I mean, really, if he were as bad as they said he was, then why lie?

Well, now the left has had 8 years to study and look at how the right handled an elected president, one overwhelmingly elected in both popular and electoral college votes. Trump can only expect that kind of support from the right that the right showed Obama.

I was watching the Comey testimony this morning at my daughter's. This is just the start. I lived through the Watergate Era and the Clinton impeachment. I would say that by 2018, we may be getting used to saying President Pence.

That Trump was overwhelming selected as the GOP candidate tells that the country is tired of business as usual in DC. So far, though, he has done everything he can to alienate much of the world against this country. While those that voted for him had the right idea, I believe they chose the wrong man. I don't expect him to serve a full term. One reason why you don't see me even doing a covfefe meme here. I'm waiting it out. Trump would get impeached, Pence would become president with someone like Cruz, or more likely, Ryan placed as Veep. But should that happen, you can expect a Democrat in the White House after the 2020 election. Any president brought up for impeachment has hurt their party in the following presidential election. Johnson was one vote short of impeachment, but the GOP took the following election. Nixon was up for impeachment hearings before he resigned, and Carter walked away with the election with 75% of registered voters being Democrat. (note: normally, the normal ratio of registered voters runs about 30% Dem, 22% GOP, balance split among 3rd Party and indies) and then when Clinton was impeached, the country elected GW Bush.

The only way that the democrats could lose the White House in 2020 should Trump be impeached would be the same way that they put Trump into office: run Hillary.
