I am new enough to keep going through new memes, but some days its tough with so many just plain mean submissions. Top vote getters are funny, not vindictive.

Yeah, I would never deliberately repost, but I don't know what all goes on here. Even when I think of a smartass comment, sometimes someone else already made it! It amazes me how many people think alike. But if we're all trying to amuse each other, then God Bless us all :-)

I know who The Rock is, I know who Simon and Garfunkel are. The connection just didn't happen in my head.

;) jk it is the color of the text. But timing and many other factors come into play. If TammyFaye comments a lot of my memes, which she does, I'll be predisposed to check out her memes more often even if I missed them on Latest page. So keep commenting, both on Latest and the Hot pages.

Another thought is about memes, is that they are continually being evolved, mutating, and natural selection is deciding which memes survive and which ones become extinct. So reposts that tweak the original meme a little is actually a natural evolution of the meme. And it's up to users to judge if it is an improvement.
