Most of the crap memes come from young kids that have very narrow world viewpoints. Show them a meme they made last week twenty years from now and they'll be embarrassed at how stupid they were. They have yet to experience the world outside their class room. Notice how many memes ate about somebody's crush. Somebody is under the age of 16 when they use the term. Others will target a classmate. Those are the worst. Then you have the specialist hobbyist, especially anime & manga. Thats a large field. While there are some that are well known outside of Japan, there are a lot that aren't. Take my favorite, which I mention here a lot: Ranma 1/2. I know 98% of the people outside of Japan would have to Google it. Which is why, even if I describe it, I always recommend they Google it by the title. Kids are into their fan clubs and think everyone knows their fave characters. I don't. Same with the gamers.
No, the folks that do the third meme topic aren't the ones that produce crap. I'd say the upvote w**res are the worst for that. I view the "Y U No Give Me Upvotes" posts as the imgflip equivilant of some panhandler holding up a sign saying, "Will Work For Food". Or people complain about lousy memes when they can't produce a page 20 meme for the hot pages. Yeah, I'll post a complaint along that line on occassion, but I at least a few hundred memes to back up my complaints that show I'm here to entertain.
