Just like many administrations there's a budget involved. I wonder how many veterans were not expected to survive and considered expendable.

Welfare benefits aren't as easy to get as some think, but VA benefits should be a lot easier to get than those. After, the hard part to qualify was done serving our country. With as many vets in Congress today, you would think they would Understand.

I agree. There are veterans all through our political tiers. And as you said, you would think would recognize what a veteran needs after returning home... Especially from active duty.

Suggestion; have congressional benefits handled by the VA.
