I agree. These days, if it isn't a political meme, it's transgender, religious, or whatever. I don't come here to get my blood pressure up. I come here to get it down!

About a month ago, I posted a meme suggesting that we need to be able to filter out political memes just like we do NSFW posts. Tag it socio-political, which would include the Social issues as well, including religious posts. The political posters had a shit fit because that's censorship. It's not censorship, it's just allowing people to opt out of their opinions. If someone wants to see political posts, they can select to view it.

Had a talk with a CSR on Monday about the situation. Ended up sending in an abuse report. Discussed this problem about the political trolls posting that is not only causing good memers to delete accounts. But is also driving away people that do come here for fun. This costs imgflip money from pro accounts, but it also hurts ad revenues. If you have 100000 viewers a day drop down to 50000 a day, that lowers the click through ratio. imgflip is a fun place, but it is, foremost, a business.

Now to see what happens.

Don't downvote ALL political memes, just the ones that don't make any sense. As for the rest of what you said, you are right. The election's done and over. Trump won, and there's no use laughing or crying about it anymore. What we need is like one or two political memes on the front page, and the rest being real good quality memes and Gifs that don't pertain to politics in any way. ( I have to put up with a bunch of yelling and screaming liberals every day. It's a good time for a break I guess)
