Lee Strobel, like many other skeptics, had a problem with the resurrection. Watch as he shares the evidences that lead him to a firm conviction in the bodily resurrection of Jesus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1azc5-ugeyE

LOL had to think about that for a second..sounds like you lost your faith..so sorry..I'd check out Josh McDowell or Lee Strobel..both big time skeptics until the evidence convinced them otherwise. Both wrote some great apologetic books for the Christian faith..God bless

No, I decided not to worship a tyrant. Even if someone could prove to me beyond the shadow of a doubt that the God of Bible is real I still would not worship him. It would be like worshipping Hitler, Pol Pot, Stalin, or Saddam Hussein. Those that kill hundred of thousands , millions, or who kill innocent babies are not worthy of my worship.

Getting an Atheist and a Christian to agree is as fun as trying to get a conservative and a liberal to agree. LOL I see you are conservative like myself. We'd have a lot more common ground there. I see the God of the Bible as a loving God..full of mercy and grace. But I really see where you are coming from. When God wiped out people in the Old Testament it was usually after trying to get them to change their evil ways over and over again. I think of how we allow abortion in this country and I wonder when He will wipe us out...If we don't stop I would welcome it. Is there anything worse than killing innocent babies?? Are we any less loving when we hunt down evil terrorists who would love to destroy us?? I think not. Thanks for your replies though..makes me think :)

You choose to see the God of the Bible as loving and full and mercy even though the Bible clearly shows he is not. That is a conscious choice to ignore the facts and believe what you want to be true. Just as the Left worshipped Obama despite all of the evidence. If killing all the innocent newborns in Egypt to prove his power is not enough to condemn the God of the Bible as a Tyrant then I can't debate with you because you would have to be mentally unstable to justify killing babies. BUT add to that that the Bible also says God hardened Pharaoh's heart so that God had an EXCUSE to kill babies...If God was/is all powerful..why didn't he just teleport the Jews from Egypt? Why did he feel it necessary to kill babies?

It's hard to read some of the things that The Lord did, through human eyes and feelings. But (through Moses) He gave Pharoah ample warning. He didn't start with killing babies, He started with turning water into blood and a plague of frogs. I personally would have lost it over those two. He told the Israelites that he would harden the heart of Pharoah, even though he had been warned that God would take the firstborn of all Egyptians. Also, The Lord did it for His glory as well as a manifestation of His power to His chosen people. One thing that God tries to impress upon his people is: “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” (Isaiah 55:8) The Isrealites were still worshiping idols, and thought that they could define God and put Him in a box. Part of the reason they had to wander 40 years in the desert after being freed from Egypt. God told the Israelites that he would free them, not only free them, but they would actually plunder the Egyptians. They could not understand that - these people had enslaved them for years. Nevertheless, Exodus 12:34-36 had the Egyptians giving them all their gold and silver as the Israelites left Egypt. I hope that makes sense.

Thanks..makes complete sense..I see God as a God who is patient...would have it that we all would be saved..loves us eternally..but here is the rub..we all get to choose Christ or reject Him..He has given us many good solid reasons and evidence to really trust Him..so much so that we are all without excuse for not seeking Him..for not at least knocking at the door.. he said we would find Him if we did..thanks again

You're hilarious. Thanks for giving me something to laugh at. HE could have just started with teleporting his people out of Egypt and saying Nyaa nyaa..I'm God. I can do whatever what I want. But NOOO he had to set up some situation that allowed him to make an excuse to kill babies.

When you read the Bible in it's context..it makes much more sense..I'm thinking you have not been apart of too many Bible studies though you said you were once a Christian..really??

"First, Pharaoh was not an innocent or godly man. He was a brutal dictator overseeing the terrible abuse and oppression of the Israelites, who likely numbered over 1.5 million people at that time. The Egyptian pharaohs had enslaved the Israelites for 400 years. A previous pharaoh—possibly even the pharaoh in question—ordered that male Israelite babies be killed at birth (Exodus 1:16). The pharaoh God hardened was an evil man, and the nation he ruled agreed with, or at least did not oppose, his evil actions.

Second, before the first few plagues, Pharaoh hardened his own heart against letting the Israelites go. “Pharaoh's heart became hard” (Exodus 7:13, 22; 8:19). “But when Pharaoh saw that there was relief, he hardened his heart” (Exodus 8:15). “But this time also Pharaoh hardened his heart” (Exodus 8:32). Pharaoh could have spared Egypt of all the plagues if he had not hardened his own heart. God was giving Pharaoh increasingly severe warnings of the judgment that was to come. Pharaoh chose to bring judgment on himself and on his nation by hardening his own heart against God’s commands.

As a result of Pharaoh’s hard-heartedness, God hardened Pharaoh’s heart even further, allowing for the last few plagues (Exodus 9:12; 10:20, 27). Pharaoh and Egypt had brought these judgments on themselves with 400 years of slavery and mass murder. Since the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23), and Pharaoh and Egypt had horribly sinned against God, it would have been just if God had completely annihilated Egypt. Therefore, God’s hardening Pharaoh’s heart was not unjust, and His bringing additional plagues against Egypt was not unjust. The plagues, as terrible as they were, actually demonstrate God’s mercy in not completely destroying Egypt, which would have been a perfectly just penalty."

Finally got around to checking out your bible..Satan could not of done a better job LOL..wow!!...I'd put it right next to the satanic bible....Bible questions answered site had a little to say about :) "A misunderstanding of God’s Word, His character, and His creation all result in the argumentation errors found on evilbible.com. A fitting summation of their stance is this statement made on their web site:

“I don’t think I could ever complete a whole list as to what I find objectionable regarding the bible.”

For certain, there are apparent difficulties that arise when one begins studying the Bible. But a person should not assume God doesn’t exist and/or the Bible is in error just because he encounters a problem in the Bible that he can’t immediately understand or explain. The scientist doesn’t throw out science just because he/she sees something in the physical world he can’t immediately explain. Neither should we do the same with theology or the study of Scripture. Misunderstandings like those committed by evilbible.com are the result of not thoroughly investigating matters or dismissing a belief based on a presupposition that is buried deep in a person’s heart or lifestyle (or both). And the danger in both cases is something Pascal warned about many years ago: “People almost invariably arrive at their beliefs not on the basis of proof but on the basis of what they find attractive.” What self-described atheists find attractive about denying God is that they think if they deny Him, they will never have to deal with Him in any way. Sadly, they couldn’t be more wrong." https://www.gotquestions.org/is-God-evil.html

"God condemns murder in so many places that to accuse Him of murder (that is, the intentional killing of persons which have committed no capital offense) is ludicrous. But if illogical arguments were eliminated from the atheists’ arsenal, the apologist would have considerably less to answer." http://creation.com/evil-bible-fallacies

Funny you should say that because my copy of the Bible IS right next to my copy of the Satanic Bible. Which is right next to a copy of "The Faith Healers" and "Flim Flam" by James Randi, next to the "Skeptics dictionary" By Shermer and right next to a "Hindu fairy Tales for Children".

"The first problem area for evilbible.com is a misunderstanding of God’s Word. In its efforts to attack the Bible, the evilbible.com web site makes two key assertions: 1) the Bible is full of horrible atrocities, and 2) the Bible is full of contradictions. As to the first point, evilbible.com is absolutely correct—the Bible is indeed full of atrocities and immoral behavior. From start to finish, the Bible records many terrible things, with the worst being the premeditated murder of the innocent and perfect Son of God. But where evilbible.com’s argument in this area falls flat is that they fail to understand that the Bible does not approve of everything it records. This is absolutely crucial to understand. For example, in Judges chapters 19 and 20, the Bible records the brutal rape and murder of a young woman who was a Levite’s concubine. Moreover, the actions of the Levite are less than honorable, and the crime results in a vicious civil war within the nation of Israel. But a careful reading of the text will show no approval of the actions that took place, and no commendation from God for the Levite’s behavior. So evilbible.com’s argument that atrocities being recorded in Scripture prove that it isn’t God’s Word simply does not hold up."

Same old cockamamie excuses for murder. He's God..he created the Universe. He couldn't have just teleported the Jews out of Egypt? Then there is the flood. How many babies died in that?

Well good thing the evangelical Christians(the ones you believe worship a God like Hitler) got out in droves and voted for Trump..without them he would never of been elected...you should be thanking them and not insulting them with such foolish talk..hard for me to believe you are really a conservative. But I'm glad you are. Means you are not a complete fool anyways :)

I am glad the Christians voted for Trump. Hillary would have been a disaster and the end of the U.S. This is one case where blind belief actually helped. But I am still amazed that Christians can be conservative because conservatives tend to be ruled by facts, logic, evidence and reason which all goes out the window if you believe in God. They defend their God the same the Left defends Obama. He can do no wrong and should not be questioned.

I also have a problem with a place of eternal punishment..A big part of me believes that we cease to exist or perish if we reject Christ..believers in Christ receive eternal life and unbelievers don't..they get eternal death..the Bible says God is love and incredibly merciful..an eternal place of torment does not sit well with me either..though many Christians would totally disagree with me and quote verse after verse why I'm wrong..In my mind I can not conceive of such a place either..

John 3:16King James Version (KJV)

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" Curious they use the perish in one of the most popular verses on our salvation.. ( Definition of perish. : to die or be killed. : to disappear or be destroyed : to cease to exist...) I really think nonbelievers cease to exist..

I think this guy is really onto something here.."Dr. Weymouth, head master of Mill Hill School, and one of the finest Greek scholars, says, "My mind fails to conceive a grosser misinterpretation of language than when the five or six strongest words which the Greek tongue possesses, signifying 'destroy,' or 'destruction,' are explained to mean maintaining an everlasting but wretched existence. To translate black as white is nothing to this." http://www.truthaccordingtoscripture.com/documents/death/perish.php#.WKZGizsrKM8

I agree with almost everything here..you are definitely not the typical atheist..you sound exactly like Lee Strobel and Josh McDowell(top Christian apologists) before they became believers..they approached the Bible looking for evidence to debunk it..and found the very opposite..and became huge believers who have encouraged millions of believers in their faith with ALL kinds of evidence for the Bible being true and God being a very loving God..your biggest hurdle..I highly recommend you at least give them a chance..I promise you will not have to check your brain in at the door to be a believer..and when you look at it deeper you will find a God who truly loves every one of us..Hillary would of definitely been the end of this country..it would of all went liberal..Trump is a Godsend..he has surrounded himself with wonderful brilliant Christian conservatives..you don't actually think they are idiots who simply blindly believe. I will agree there are a LOT of crazy religions out there..even many of the Christian denominations are crazy. But if you approach Scripture conservatively..going by nothing but the facts..you will be pleasantly surprised and pleased with what you find..

I think you missed the part where I said I used to be Christian until I read the bible. (Genesis 22:1-18) Is an act of a Tyrant and insecure god. (Judges 11:29-40 NLT) This is just plain and simple a human sacrifice for if God is all-knowing he KNEW who/what would come out of the house 1st. Then there is the simplest of simplest arguments that if God is SO loving then why does he send people to Hell? Don't give me that tired argument that we do it ourselves because to that I would say "Why did he CREATE Hell?" As a parent, I did not create a torture room to torture my kids if they didn't worship me. As a God, an all-knowing God, I would not have created an Angel that would turn against me.

You like to keep blaming God for killing babies..curious, what do you think of abortion in America?? How long should God have to tolerate that?? He gives us all free will to do good or bad..and a lot of us do some very evil acts..should there not be consequences?? Is everything God's fault in your view?? If God is love..which the Bible clearly teaches and demonstrates He is..did you forget He sent His very Son to die for us??..evil such as this would be very very offensive to Him..

Some more on God's love :) "The greatest expression of God's love is communicated to us in John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” Romans 5:8 proclaims the same message: “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” We can see from these verses that it is God's greatest desire that we join Him in His eternal home, heaven. He has made the way possible by paying the price for our sins. He loves us because He chose to as an act of His will. Love forgives. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9).

So, what does it mean that God is love? Love is an attribute of God. Love is a core aspect of God’s character, His Person. God’s love is in no sense in conflict with His holiness, righteousness, justice, or even His wrath. All of God’s attributes are in perfect harmony. Everything God does is loving, just as everything He does is just and right. God is the perfect example of true love. Amazingly, God has given those who receive His Son Jesus as their personal Savior the ability to love as He does, through the power of the Holy Spirit (John 1:12; 1 John 3:1, 23-24)."

A little bit about the flood..

"How was the flood in the time of Noah just?"

Answer: The global flood of Noah’s day was the direct judgment of a just God. The Bible says the flood wiped out “people and animals and the creatures that move along the ground and the birds”—everything that breathed air (Genesis 7:23). Some people today are offended by the flood story, saying it is proof of God’s injustice, arbitrariness, or just plain meanness. They accuse the Bible of promoting a temperamental God who judges indiscriminately and say that only a bully would drown everyone, including children and all those innocent animals.

Such attacks on the character of God are nothing new. As long as there have been sinners in the world, there have been charges that God is unjust. Consider Adam’s subtle shifting of blame. When asked about eating the forbidden fruit, Adam said, “The woman you put here with me—she gave me some fruit” (Genesis 3:12). That is, it was the woman’s fault, and God’s, since He made the woman. But blaming God did not mitigate Adam’s sin. And calling God “unjust” for sending the flood will not lessen ours.

The flood of Noah’s day has many counterparts in history. God judged the people of Canaan with a command to wipe them out (Deuteronomy 20:16–18). He similarly judged Sodom and Gomorrah, Nineveh (Nahum 1:14), and Tyre (Ezekiel 26:4). And the final judgment before the Great White Throne will result in all the wicked from all time being cast into the lake of fire (Revelation 20:11–15). The plain message of the Bible is that God does judge sin, whether by an invading army, by fire and brimstone, or by a catastrophic global flood...
.
The flood was just because mankind was evil. “The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time” (Genesis 6:5). We cannot fully imagine the extent of the wickedness of that day. We have never seen the like. The evil was “great,” and every thought of everyone’s heart was only evil continually. There was no goodness in the world; every person was wholly corrupted. There was nothing within them that was not evil. The people of Noah’s day were not dabblers in sin; they had taken the plunge, and everything they did was an abomination. https://www.gotquestions.org/flood-just.html
