The Man Who Modeled As Uncle Sam

Always interesting reads. I miss seeing them all, but try to catch up.

Having lived in Hoosier Land most of my life, I was unaware of Botts or his part in American history.

It's sad that stuff like this gets left out of history textbooks, but then again if they included everything they possible could it would take up a whole planet probably.

In the past, it was the newspaper morgue, old diaries, and, if possible, a company historian. Trivia books picked up a lot of things as well.

I did a trivia column for a humor news letter because I got tired of getting forwarded emails full of BS trivia. Did you know a duck's quack does not echo and nobody knows why? Cecil Adams got that bit of trivia and a duck and after testing, determined that a ducks quack does echo and people are really gullible.

I didn't know that actually, and why would people think this!?!
I know that cows have different accents depending on which nations they come from.

People seem to believe anything the read on the internet. One company had a successful ad campaign years ago that poked fun at that. Everyone laughed. I ticked off a lot of friends and family members when I stopped believing everything. I try to stay well informed. But it's so easy to hit the forward button.
