The problem with climate change is that it is not a yes or no issue. Of course climate change is real, it's been happening since before the time of the dinosaurs. There is some debate over how much man is influencing it (some claim causing it), there is debate over how catastrophic it will be, and most importantly there is debate over whether or not we can change our behavior to stop it.
This is why when making political arguments in favor of regulating carbon emissions they will claim 97% (I may have that percentage wrong) agree that climate change is real. That is true, but that does not mean that 97% agree that climate change is caused by man, it does not mean that 97% agree that it will be catastrophic, and it does not mean that 97% agree that changing human behavior can do anything to prevent it.
