Bears are omnivorous. They eat berries and honey and such, as well as fish and other animals should they desire meat. Carnivorous means they only eat meat.
Second, they only attack if they see you as a threat to their territory, and in the rare case that they DO attack. If you just play dead they'll lose interest and go away. They don't eat humans unless they are nearly starved to death.
Finally, you'd only get attacked if you were stupid enough to go near one. Especially it's cubs.
