I was wondering that too when I first saw your initial comment. Unless there was a change today it looks like rise and wakester got a downvote. Until 2 months ago or so it seemed like the first comment to get 3 upvotes would stay above all other comments with 3 upvotes, but then it seems like they changed it so that there's a "hot" element to it as well.
Sometimes mobile users make mistakes and downvote accidentally before correcting to an upvote. I've got fat fingers and can say with 95% certainty in that case the upvote counts and gives the user points, the downvote doesn't count for low rated comments, but the "removed downvote" still affects comment placement.
Does make the least bit of sense?
