Toyota made sewing machines before they made cars (and still do). Porsche and Lamborghini both used to make tractors before making cars.

Mercedes makes the motor for Kirby vacuums... Or, at least, they did when I was hired as a Kirby salesman. Changed my mind and turned down the job when I realized "Am I really about to become a door-to-door vacuum cleaner salesman?"
