This reminds me of an American POW's account in WW2: The Germans had feirce trained guard and attack dogs they would use on prisoners, and the American POWs would make a mad scramble for the top bunks when the Germans let their dogs run through the barrack just for laughs. Next to the American's camp was a big fence that divided them and the Russian POWs, and one evening they heard a huge ruckus from that side. The Germans had let their dogs run through the Russian's barracks, but the Russians actually attacked the dogs en masse and ate them. Poor starving things
