I loved what few episodes I saw.

I'm not a major fan of the reboots. It's not the vision Roddenberry had. If he wanted reboots, Kirk and company would have been on ST/TNG. It's more like bad fan fiction.
I know, Kirk and company ate established characters. But that should be canon. Had ST/TOS not been torpedoed, and gone beyond the five year mission, characters would have been written out and replacements made. There have been three series based on the enterprise, every one excellent. But different characters in each one. I think the should have moved forward with a new Enterprise and new characters.

But that's my opinion. The time tweak ruined the entire series.

I thought the first two reboots were fine in their own right (haven't watched the third yet), but when it messed with the timeline and changed some of the character interactions I wasn't really a fan of that part. I don't remember what the CBS streaming only show is supposed to be, but I'd like to see one set however many years after DS9/Voyager ended. How have the alliances progressed, who else is new and upcoming in Star Fleet, etc.

That's what I'm talkin' 'bout. I only watched the first of the reboots. Interesting, but it was like sending the crew back to school. It screwed up what should be Canon. I don't care if Kirk is the youngest man to con a constellation class ship, there are very few officers on the bridge of any ship that went to school with "the old man". Now you have an entire bridge crew. Gene would never have put up with it as it flies in the face of all military precedent. The captain has to have some experience under his belt, which, based on this series, didn't happen. Call me a purist. If they wanted to show the Spock-Kirk friendship grow, it was not with them being on the Enterprise under Pike. Kirk served on other ships before taking command. I'll have to Google the exact career path, but I'm sure the crew wasn't assigned to the ship straight out of the Academy.
