We saw it happen in the 1850s with the Whigs. The only thing that survives of that party is the GOP. Even the Dixiecrats rolled back onto it.The Democrats will eventually split, with the neoliberals going back to the GOP and the liberals moving to the progressive side. Many may just go independent.

Unfortunately it seems people are not voting as the most common way to protest the neoliberalization of the party. If more people had voted green we could have really scared the party into cleaning house.

I don't think Jill was on the ballot in all the States, but her campaign manager pissed off a lot of Bernie supporters by requiring them to sign up to even see her party platform. A lot of Bernie supporters filed her under "same old same old". I signed up be cause my political page had thrown our endorse.ent to her. I lasted three days as they sent me more emails in that short time period then even Hillary had.

Jill sent the wrong message with that stunt. Any wonder why I don't argue the point when Conservatives start trash talking about her being a money grubber in their memes here.

She took the wrong tack and pissed off a lot of people with that stunt.

Oh, those emails I did get from hér campaign team all asked for money. Then u had a difficult time unsubscibing from her list

As a Berner who endorsed and voted for Jill I've had the opposite experience. Other than some of her group page members being overly aggressive I've found Jill Stein to be very principled and by far the best candidate in the field with a semblance of a shot of winning.

Notice, I said her TEAM, not her. Still, it's a bad reflection on the candidate. Bernie got some flak about the way he set up the organization after Hillary got the nomination. The charter being set up to allow the dark money in, and even the head of the organization.

Well, now we have Trump as president elect. The DNC will struggle for years because they can't figure out what's wrong, and the independents will remain having their vote repressed.

What's wrong is exceedingly obvious, it's called neoliberalism where in veneer they are liberal but underneath it's all Big monetary interests, including imperialism and by extension endless wars. It's not hard for them to figure this out either. They just really don't have the incentive to do so.
