But that's not all...we need have open primaries and allow 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th parties to compete equally. The only way that will work is to also get rid of lobbyists and make it illegal to receive campaign contributions from corporations/ billionaires/ super-pacs; that's what we used to call "BRIBERY" and it should be illegal.

I agree, it shouldn't happen. But then, team Hillary isn't known for subtlety.

Thanks to Citizens United, lobbyists will never be eliminated, and big money/dark money are taking away the power of the people. We were closer than ever to get this accomplished when Bernie ran. Now? It would take armed revolution.

I think what gets lost is calling it "Team Hillary". It's not really them. The main sponsors and proponents of "Citizens United" and pretty much every law on the books that has allowed lobbyists/corporations/billionaires to buy elections has come from Republicans. Hillary was definitely part of the system as well, but actually not the source of these issues- again, they are overwhelmingly Republican causes. The same with all of the various state sponsored voter suppression laws that prevent or make it exceedingly difficult for legal US citizens to vote (who are disproportionately minorities, senior citizens, etc). Lots of problems so it's hard to feel optimistic about the direction that the country is heading in...

Maybe not, but she didn't waste any time jumping in bed with them when she had the chance. The very fact that she got the nomination shows that the SuperPACs are supporting her.

The DNC has sold out their core constituants. Notice how the AFL-CIO leadership chose Hillary to endorse? They didn't take a vote among their membership lijecthe CWA or the nurses Union. Why? Because they would have ended up supporting Trump. As we've learned, your vote doesn't cont, nor does mine.

I agree with you. I supported Bernie and think he got cheated whether you agree with his politics or not. The scary thing to me is that he gets called a socialist when he's basically espousing FDR-lite social-democratic ideas that were already put in place in the 30's and 40's (and worked well BTW). He's a capitalist with a conscience basically, but people who clearly have no idea what "socialism" means keep calling him one. Standard world of internet trolls, but somehow, the trolls won and are calling the shots this time.
