But you produce almost nothing in the way of hardware and manufacturing. Your biggest exports are milk and almonds. If you left the union. You'd last about a year. IF you where able to get recognized and sign trade agreements in that time. Basically, you can't grow enough food, or have enough water, or have enough energy. Your money would only last so long. Even if what ever currency you came up with was recognized. I also wouldn't hold out on the U.S just giving you water and energy for free. They'd likely GOUGE the shit out of you for every drop. Texas can KIND of pretend to leave. They have Huston. The country largest deep water port in the U.S and a massive energy economy. California is rich because of the union. Not in spite of it. Without it your just a over populated Navada. Hence 3rd world country.
