Well both TWD and FTWD are rip offs of Romero.

An easier way to put it is if you liked TWD, you'll like FTWD, just not as much as TWD. :{D

I'm not sure if I'm a zombie fan or not. Although I do admire directors like Romero who do a lot on a low budget.

The thing I like most about TWD is how they handle the characters, and how people deal with their world being turned upside down. Ordinary people in a completely impossible situation.

That's cool. And that's part of my like for both franchises.

The Romero Zombie to me is just the scariest movie monster. They look like us and you'd have emotional attachments to them. Seeing how people respond to them and learn to adapt to them is a huge part of my love for the zombie films/shows.

It's also a Biblical thing for me. The idea in the old Living Dead films is that "when there's no more room in hell, the dead will walk the earth" line. I see the zombie thing as divine judgement akin to Sodom and Gomorrah but Revelation also mentions the dead rising. And it's sort of the Rapture in an even more horrible way. :{

They did a bit that to me is trying to demonize God. I hated that.

Other than that it had a weird surreal feeling. But I feel they may have broken the show.

I also hated one part of the acting by one that died. They looked like they were nodding their head to some tunes right before and I'm like why isn't the person looking at the group?

And it wasn't as gory as Nicotero made it sound. I thought they were going to show more of a busted watermelon/pumpkin look but they show more the aftermath than the "exploding head" that Nicotero said at one point.

I never mind spoilers. I'm usually more interested in how the story's told than in what happens. :)

And have you ever watched Ash vs Evil Dead? They had a way better head wound SFX than Walking Dead and it made me wonder why Nicotero didn't do the gore better. :{

I'm way behind (Season 5).

I just watched the recap and jumped into Season 7. Now I'm going back and watching the whole thing. (I'm almost done with Season 2)

No. I've heard it's not as good.

It's not. But it's okay. I like it cause it's a Romero film in SoCal/Mexico. :{D

I'm sorry, George Romero. Director of the Night of the Living Dead movies.(6 films and some remakes)

The guy from TWD Nicotero started off working for Romero's SFX guy Tom Savini.

And Kirkman sort of just copied the whole Romero zombie style. :{D

Ah OK! That might make it worth checking out.
