No it's not transgender bashing, it's just gender bashing. What they really want to know is what equipment they have, and since she/they are the parents, I'm sure they have that right to do so. What clothes they buy is up to them too, even if it's stereotyping(?), since the baby can't express themselves for quite some time. Or can they? Gender is about feelings, apparently, so no one knows a baby's feelings.

She should've asked what gender they would be born into, not what gender they would identify with. :[

He's not denying science. You, however, want to use science to promote your own ideology. Science is not normative. Science is only descrpitive. Therefore science will never tell you what's ethically right or wrong. If you say we should let people do whatever they want with their gender/body, you are expressing a normative statement. Therefore it's your ideology, not science.

It's not wrong. It's just impossible. If you are born something, you can't choose to become something else. For example if you are human, you can't choose to become a cow. Some people think that they can choose their gender because gender, according to them, is a social construction, not a natural fact. Their argument is that there are many cases of ambiguity (for example someone with two Y chromosomes). Therefore, they say, the categories "men" and "women" are only abstractions (i.e. social constructions), since they don't fit the variety we see in nature. However, this argument is not valid.
