Maybe it's just my obsessive-compulsive nature, but I think it loses funny points by possibly being based on a false premise (though I'll concede that it likely ISN'T false).
The way I see it, career politicians are supporting other career politicians, even if they disagree with all their policies (on paper). It's not about doing what's right for the country. It's about keeping the status quo of politics being a way to earn one's living instead of being what someone ALSO does with their life. The founding fathers all did other things to earn a living. They viewed their service in congress as a duty to be performed. This is how it should be.
