I plan to stay in crisis management, but if I wake up hating my job, being a cop is plan b.
There's not a ton of chicks who do it, just because it takes a mindset that's just not out there as a social norm at this point. I don't remember if I clarified it earlier, but the fighter I want to take private lessons from is a chick, and she's actually my height and probably walks around at a weight of people the people I'd be fighting.
Most people can the hang of what percentage to go at during sparring. Unless they're going super hard, I just go as hard as they are. If they're going to hard then it's the person who's been there longer and is established to tell them so and to tell them they need to turn it down a notch. I've also told plenty of people they punch me harder too (not taunting, but if your partner isn't going hard enough you're not going to learn anything). I'd say sparring is generally at 80% with standup, and you've usually got boxing gloves on versus little tiny MMA gloves. When it comes to ground fighting we usually go 100% at my gym, with the exception of "being explosive". You don't just explode into an armbar and possibly break/hyper-extend someone's elbow. No one wants to go home hurt. Most of the time, the people who go home hurt are the ones who are too stubborn to tapout. I'll slowly apply and increase pressure of joint locks but they don't tap and then they've got a sprained joint. Some people are more flexible than others so it's up to you to know when to tap when it starts to feel like it's about to hurt or you know you can't get out of it.
I don't know that much about Krav Maga regarding killing, but disabling sounds right. I know I've seen the Hunted, but I don't remember it at all, I just remember liking it.
Alright, well unless I've got another reply from you already I'm calling it a night. Later Tetsu!
