You're absolutely on to something there.

I am in no way saying that 9/11 was an inside job, but America needed a boogeyman at that time. It's in our history for 250 years. We had the Soviet Union for ~50 years. We needed someone that Americans could be scared of and to keep the military/industrial complex in business.
