When Silver Streak came out, I went to see it by myself. Seated near me was a middle aged black couple (me white, me 20). It was a bit awkward where he tried to act black, but it was hilarious to all of us. I think that it helped me see black people more as like me, since I had been mostly around whites & Hispanics. The civil rights movement scared me as a kid, but I'm much better now, I hope.
