You need to use the templates already on the generator. If you use your own, they take much longer to feature and end up further down the list. They are on the list according to the time they were generated and not when they were posted, so don't wait to long after making a meme to submit it. Finally it is better to generate and submit near the top of hour.

No worries. You must be Canadian. I was the person who upvoted your Tragically Hip meme yesterday. I saw them twice in concert, but that was years ago. I hope you don't mind that I linked a couple of my original memes in response to smerkin. I know some users don't like it if people promote their own memes in the comments section, so I don't do it that often unless it is relevant to the subject.

Awesome memes. I do understand because making an original template for a good meme with many layers can take alot of time.and a comment Googled pic with cleaver text is convenient. All good though.most of mine are made in photoshop but when im away at work i only have my phone which is annoying for creating good memes.love your work by the way :)

This is good advice. Definitely don't wait after generating a meme to submit it, and top of the hour is better.

The only thing I can think to add re: original templates might be submitting them in the early afternoon (say around 1-2pm EST). It seems like they release a big batch of original templates at around 3 or 4 pm EST. You want your meme to be submitted to give the mods enough time to approve it for release, but not so much time that it comes out far down in the batch. I'm not 100% sure that this works all the time but I've had a few good results with submitting original templates at around that time.
