While I'm now getting paid not to work. The pay is less, but it's much easier...

I have two (real) friends at work - a gay guy and an incredibly gorgeous woman who I get along with real well and would likely be involved with if not for the fact that she's (not-so-happily) married. So basically I meme in frustration. :P

The question is: do I push it and take a chance in blowing up a great friendship, or do I continue to smile and nod as she rants about her personal life for 20 minutes at a time (which can be quite entertaining as it is)?

Actually her looks aren't the kind I'm attracted to. We just have a good time bullshitting with each other (and her office is buried in the building so it's definitely neutral). I'm the only guy who can talk to her one-on-one without getting intimidated, and I can talk about personal stuff with her and get her honest feedback, and indeed affection. And even if this is a cliche: she plays with her hair the whole time so I know she is 'there'. I've asked her out for a drink and she's considered it, but I know she wants to make her relationship work. If nothing happens I'm honestly good with being the ear. She's decent and that's what I like most about her. She wants what's best for me - she didn't like my last girlfriend and she was right. There's a connection beyond me being the mooning guy.
