I think that's where the distinction between knowing if you are liberal/conservative or democratic/republican comes in to play. I think truly liberal or conservative voters are willing to look at issues and other things. It's those that don't budge from the party line that aren't honest. I've picked (when I wasn't old enough to vote)/voted for the winner since Clinton's second term. I was completely against W on everything. If Kerry would have said anything other than an immediate withdrawal of troops in Iraq he would have gotten my vote. We messed that place up so bad going in, that it was my number one topic, so despite Bush losing all of my support in his first four years, I still voted for him the second time because I believe we owed it to the Iraqi's. Granted, he still messed up the troop draw down, but Kerry's plan would have been equally disastrous in my opinion. It was also Gore's vote to lose in 2000. I lived in Texas and he seemed to do a great job with education down there at the time, and Gore just didn't do enough to convince me to vote for him.
