Well then you fundamentally misinterpreted Socialism. Socialism isn't when the people own the government and thus the government serves the people, that's a democracy. Socialism is when the government owns the people and it must require incredibly high taxes and regulation on the wealthy to maintain a functioning socialist state. It's unsustainable. And communism is what we get when Socialism inevitably fails.

When little to no wealthy remain, the Middle Class must take up that great burden, and it is impossible to sustain that, so Communism and dictatorial regimes must take over in order to suppress the masses. In your world the librarian is the elite group who really controls all the literature in the library, if you don't give back according to the librarian, then you can be banned from participating in the library. Furthermore, participation in a library is completely voluntarily. The librarian doesn't force you to take a book in exchange for a due date, and you aren't penalized because you OWN more books then others. Bad analogy.

If you want to know what Socialism looks like, all you have to do is view a Socialist Country. Like Venezuela, where they have armed guards at the grocery stores because they have no products on the selves, and massive power outages. Or Frace, does that need explaining? I'm going to assume that you're a Millennial -Bernie Sanders supporter. I'm a Conservative Millennial. Bernie lies to vulnerable and naive people, Socialism can't work forever, it isn't sustainable for very long. In order for the government to give to the poor, it must take, involuntarily, more and more money from the wealthy in order to supply the poor or lazy. It's also an incentive for the poor to remain poor and not work. (I'm not talking about the genuinely disabled, but those who take advantage of the situation). Don't be fooled, bigger government always means less individual freedoms. It takes more and more money from the wealthy in order to fund government programs for the poor and lazy. The government doesn't generate any money independent of revenue. It can't. So as the FALSE Middle Class continues to expand, the burden of transitioning that class becomes greater and greater on the wealthy. They can't support it. And the elite in government must obtain more power in order to remain a Socialist State. That's when basic freedoms get taken away, because you're becoming a threat to their government and their power. Eventually few wealthy remain in a world where nothing is getting cheaper. That burden then falls upon the large False Middle Class. It's unsustainable.

A simple lesson in economics will show you that. If I have $10 and you have $7, the Socialist government says, "That's income inequality, give him $1". I now have $9, and you have $8. It doesn't seem like much but you didn't earn it, and I've lost a dollar. Another guy with $5 comes along, you have more then him, the State says, "you must give to him equality, because you're more fortunate then him, give him $1". You now have $7 and he has $6, see the eventual collapse?

Taxes should be a set percentage, it shouldn't be based upon how much you make. In order words, everyone should pay 10% of their annual generated income. They shouldn't pay a higher percentage because they are weather. If 10% is good enough for God, it should be good enough for the State.

I also can't vote for Socialism because it's immoral, it takes from the wealthy, involuntary. It's also not the system of government that our Founding Fathers fought, and died, to establish. Socialism starts out seemingly okay, but it's unsustainable before long.
