You can get points by upvoting as well. It doesn't get you a lot, but that's how you get the odd numbers.

I've been wondering the same thing, and yes, it's the upvotes, but eventually you stop getting points from upvoting.

But when I was around 300,000 points I was even, then it became odd, now it's even again... weird...

You still get points for upvoting, you just have to do a whole lot of upvoting to get anything after the first few thousand.

Not anymore. That would be awful, I would quit Imgflip if that happened. Trolls could change the entire leaderboard.

It's an old chart I got from socrates I haven't had time to make an updated one. But that's how it used to be until less than a year ago when they disabled the downvote button. However, you could do the same thing back to the trolls.

Example: A meme off. The first meme you make will be 4, but the rest will be 2.

I believe you get one point for every 10 or so memes you upvote. I could be wrong on this;it could be more like one point for every 20 memes upvoted, but you're correct when you say you don't get much for upvoting.
