I know what you mean about the text boxes, another way you can do it is to generate the meme, save it to your computer and then upload as a custom template. I use that sometimes when I'm not sure where the story is going in my head yet or if I rally like the 1st few frames but then change my mind on the ending. :)

go to my images (top right dropdown menu in imgflip), right click (I hope you're on a pc) and choose "save as" I keep a "memes" folder in my picture folder for templates and images I want to use in comments.

I'm using a Macbook Pro, not very computer savvy in that way does that mean it won;'t work>? When I click on the image and try to save it saves the entire page not just the image... dang it one of my memes I'm submitting today is really good and I wanted to save it now I can't darn it
