I find random google searching images helps shorten that time, listen to the images. :)

If you think too hard on them, they don't turn out as good as one would wish :)

Though, be careful. For writers and artists, it's a common misbelief that you need to wait for inspiration. Actually, waiting for inspiration is the most common way of getting Writer's/Artist's Block. One must force themselves to write/draw until the inspiration comes most of the time.

But, for the most part, you are correct.
