I read the whole story from two opposing sources, so that was interesting. Snopes was one of them. The guy did get jail time in a plea bargain, but it was limited. The victim's family wanted it done with so she wouldn't have to testify in court (privacy laws are better now). In 2008 the victim seems to have changed her story, but who knows the whole story. Interesting.
