I read your meme referencing this one so I took a look. I upvoted because you said it was a tribute and tributes and thanks to our soldiers always get an upvote from me when I see them! I did not see this one come out and to be honest I am unable to read the 3rd panel and probably would have passed it over. This may have been part of the problem as by definition a meme is quick read. I hope that helps for future creations, I enjoy seeing submissions from those who are respectful to those who serve!!!

Sorry, small text, it all says "3 score, 12 years, and one day ago, 208,892 British, Polish, Canadian, and American soldiers marched forth, to the beaches of Normandy, believing in liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal." It is referencing part of the Gettysburg Address.

Yep, I blew it up and read it :). I just wanted to leave you that message, 1. because I thought your point deserved to be seen and wasn't and 2. I want to see more from you and you sounded discouraged in your meme referencing this one.

First World Problems Meme | EVERY TIME I THINK OF IT... | image tagged in memes, first world problems | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
It's just a personal topic. My great-grandfather stormed the beaches. I've also been to Omaha, and at age 13 I broke down crying looking at the beach and realizing that at one time, the water was red with blood, the tide took bodies away, men drowned while leaving the boats, a lot didn't even make it onto the beach, and even if they did, the sand was soon red with their blood, and rivers of it ran down the sand into the water. I still have trouble trying to not cry when I think of it, and I've actually cried in class(embarrassing, i know, especially as a freshman in high school).

Thanks for sharing that with me! I think it is awesome when someone younger can actually "feel" history. It was never my subject in school but I have certainly come to appreciate it through the years. I think it really started to hit home when we buried my father at Cold Harbor Veterans Cemetery in Virginia. Walking through and seeing the graves from the Civil War, WWI, WWII, Korea and Nam, it gives you a link to all of those soldiers. Going somewhere like Omaha Beach HAS to be overwhelming, I can only imagine the images that came to you while standing there. I hope you find strength for the future from the energy of the past you encountered there.
