I just see no parallel to the civil rights movement of the 60s. You can call it what it is, but the comparison to me diminishes what was achieved by Malcolm X, MLK, Rosa Parks and others. The transgender issue is about giving transgenders the choice, something less than 99.95% of the rest of society do not have or want. The community is willing to it looks to me, to say the hell with the rest of you as long as we get to be comfortable. If that community was advocating for it's own facilities, it may actually get a LOT more support.
