I think you can still get downvotes and lose points, you just can't see them on your meme or others's memes. My guess is that there were too many complaints about downvotes, so the mods took away the ability to see them

...Well then. I'd like to see the public's real opinion on my memes, but on the bright side, I guess this means I can start downvoting trolls again!

I noticed some of my comments losing points the other day, I assume from downvotes, but nobody left any comments so I don't even know why. I didn't think it was anything that anyone would get offended by, so I thought it very weird to be getting downvotes.

People get offended by any number of things, so you never know.

Yep, the only thing that changed about downvotes is you can't see them to know if you're being trolled. I'd like to see the counter back. On some memes that's the only way to know if they met their intended goal :)

You don't lose points from people downvoting you, If someone takes away their upvote, you lose points.

And since 40 points is how much you get if someone upvotes your meme, someone took away their upvote.

Thank GOD we can't lose points from downvotes.

Look at someones points, take away an upvote you gave them, and then you'll see their points went down.

Ah, that makes sense then.
Now it's time to hunt down whoever removed that upvote!! XD

That's a real mystery. I don't have the faintest clue.
