Great meme! Did you upload that template or did you use the one that is in there? I uploaded one about 6 months ago because I hate those Liberty Mutual commercials so much!

You should have used Fry's "take my money" template for that.

The number of uninsured Americans has been cut in half since the enactment of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Those who remain uninsured live in States that voted down the Act's provision for expanding Medicaid. Most Red States voted against the expansion, choosing instead to risk the well-being of their residents in favor of a political agenda.

If the price of your coverage has gone up, there are 2 factors that could possibly play into it:

1.) Your previous coverage was deficient in some way.

2.) Medical insurance companies kept prices artificially low for DECADES by denying insurance to people with pre-existing conditions. That's not allowed anymore, so what you're paying reflects the true costs of insuring everybody.

Then we should let you die if you don't have the cash to pay the hospital bills.

Where I'm from it's from state and federal. I do have insurance through my employer and if I did have to pay a medical large bill after being hospitalized and didn't have the insurance I would go on a payment plan through the hospital. If I stuck tax payers with the bill then I would be like the people I complain about. What the irritating thing is, is that the government has it's hands in the too many things and is telling me what to do with my money.

(They jacked 400 bucks from me, I guess they considered my $10 an hour job that I got in late December, a whopping month before tax time as me not being poor any more, or at least cancelling out the time that I was totally poor two years prior to that) LOL

Exactly. There are big cracks in the system that people fall into..... Another one is those huge deductables which make it almost impossible to use the 'plan'
[deleted]
3 ups, 9y
That's true. You have insurance so you don't get penalized, but the deductibles will make you broke. So don't ever use it
1 up, 9y
(The only thing I can say is that the plan I get through my job is surprisingly good, and the deductibles are pretty decent. I'm not sure if it being a private family owned business has anything to do with it, but the owners there really seem to care about their workers. They don't make you wait six months to a year just to get insurance, and they just went through a whole debacle to get us something cheaper because what we had was trying to raise their premiums insanely high. I think I got pretty lucky here, other people's stories sound like the things nightmares are made of) LOL
