Damn right to your second comment and cut off is more like it. They are like little fish hooks. I was living here (AZ) about 2 years when we bought our house, the subdivision had central mailboxes and some douchebag landscaped this beside the mailbox. I accidently brushed it and got two of the little pods stuck t my hand. So I did what any normal person would do, I put the mail in my mouth and used my other hand to remove them, which promptly got impaled as well. So now my hands are stuck together and I have a mouthful of mail. Walking the few hundred feet back to the house for help, I then managed to get my hands stuck to both my hands and my jeans. So now I am at home standing at the front door with a mouthful of slobbery mail and looking like I played twister with a cactus when my wife opens the door she busts up laughing. Once she gets over hyperventilating she broke out the scissors and proceeded to cut me free and then one by one with tweezers we removed almost a dozen spines. So in short, these are nasty mofos!!!
