've seen that too. Often when a template is on the front page that hasn't been on for a while, the next few days you'll see other examples of that template in the Latest stream.
And sometimes people even copy front page memes almost word for word and submit them a day or two later. I have no idea why they do that. They can't possibly think it'll get upvoted again so quickly afterwards. Maybe they think the front page one wasn't as good as it could have been, and they have an improvement in mind for it?
