Eh, the Crusades. Not a fair judgement on my behalf really, but I do love karmatic irony.

The crusades were not "Christian" in the New Testament sense, whatever the politics. And there has been horrible fallout from that for 800 years. Personally, I like social democracy in Europe...but the immigration policies got out of hand.

Well, the "Christianisation of Scandinavia" wasn't technically a crusade either. Also, I know that most of the bloodshed in the Crusades was Turkish Muslims. The biggest bloodletter being Count Vlad Dracula 3 of Wallachia.

I made a joke about Vlad the Impaler to a Romanian & got a lecture on what a great national hero he is! Guess I wrongly assumed "Impaler" was not actually a good thing...

We had a discussion about this on one of my memes lol. He's considered a hero in, like Hungary or something. The name "Tsepesh" (anglicised) or "the Impaler" came from the fact that he would skewer people on pikes, alive I think.

Anyway, Christians are certainly being persecuted. Isis sucks. Radical Islam sucks. They end up hurting their fellow Muslims & giving them a worse reputation. I don't see any parallel with the Christians, including military. Not that innocents don't get killed, but it's not the intent.
