Once again, the verse you mentioned isn't a teaching of Jesus so it's irrelavant. It's merely an account of what life was like thousands of years ago. Is it in the 10 commandments? The new testament doesn't disavow the old testament. In fact you can hardly find the two separately. They are referred to as a pair as the bible. Don't act like you don't know that. The new testament ABSOLUTELY disavows the old, you're flat out wrong on that. Name one example of a christian, IN THE NAME OF JESUS, raping and beating a woman, and the court system IN THE NAME OF JESUS then throwing acid on the woman and whipping her to death FOR BEING RAPED. This happens in islamic nations who adhere to the quran. Last time I checked, this doesn't happen in America, a country largely founded on the beliefs of christianity. Don't try to compare the teachings of Jesus to mohammed or try to compare the two religions. You need to do more research on islam and how they want to take over the world and implement sharia law. Is christianty perfect? Of course not, but I'll defend it ANYDAY against islam.

I never once said that. Didn't even hint at it. It has no bearing on this conversation. But the bible does make provisions for enslaving the women of your enemies. I cited chapter and verse. You say the NT disavows the OT on that. Where? Chapter and verse. And more over even if there is a disavowal of that verse the verse still exists. It is in the bible no matter what else you think I should consider. You can't refute that but you want to mitigate it. whats obvious,... is that when a liberal don't like something... they feel compelled to deny everyone that choice. The only difference is that your attacks of christianity are based on stuff that happened in the past, where as islam is committing human rights violations TODAY based on what mohammed told them to do in the quran. Even when christians committed terrible acts in the past, they weren't following Jesus because Jesus never said to act like that. It's about a small majority (atheists) who want these things taken away. It's not moral majority. If what you say is true, and Christian should not be offended, then why does God in government in buildings offend you so much.

As an atheist I have equal disdain for all religions. But one religion marking another as barbaric has extra hypocrisy sauce all over it. I was just making sure the original poster remembered the violent teachings of the old testament.
