Here's some feedback: guide the class in their own discussion, so they get involved, and feel like they're teaching themselves. It will engage them, and help them retain the knowledge.

I have to teach at work sometimes, and that is how I always liked to learn. You're just a guide. Give them a nudge here and there, and they will go on cruise control.

Now, if you're teaching math, or civics, or something like that, good luck, lol. Those subjects are a grinder no matter what.

Mainly Languages (English and Spanish) and history so I'm kinda safe. My English is a bit weird because I had to learn it in different countries so well, I'm gonna teach by using records from England.

My advice: Don't teach middle school. Puberty sucks.

In that case, go full disciplinarian. It doesn't matter if they like you.

I'll try it, indeed I tend to be too soft and patient. Then they make me mad and I go berserk and after that they try to keep me cool by being attentive for the rest of the day.

We always knew the difference between cool teachers, and soft teachers. Cross a cool teacher, and he's not so cool all the sudden, lol. You have to set lines, and don't let anyone cross them. Be predictable, and consistent with punishment. That way, when they cross a line, they know it was all their fault, and you didn't spring it on them. Kids will like the security of a classroom like that.

Then again, I had a gradating class of 33 people. These methods might not work on some intercity middle schoolers, lol. They might just shank you in the teacher's lounge...
